Service Description: Inventory of stormwater outfalls in the City of South Burlington, Vermont. Outfalls are defined and inventoried according to EPA's Storm Water Phase II Final Rule (USEPA, 1999). This data set includes structures owned by the City as well as privately-owned outfalls and outfalls owned by the State of Vermont. The emphasis in developing this data set has been on city-owned outfalls; the inventory of state and privately-owned outfalls is not as complete or accurate as city-owned outfalls. This inventory has been compiled using a variety of source data sets and data collection techniques. Initial data sets used for the develoment of this layer were provided by the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission and the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources. Data have been revised and added using site plans, as-built drawings, orthophotograph interpretation, GPS, and field inspections by South Burlington stormwater utility staff. A separate End of Pipe layer has been developed to map locations where stormlines and conveyances end but are not technically outfalls.
