Layers<\/b><\/div>
Sewer Manhole<\/u> - This is a layer of all wastewater manholes. May include some other buried structures.<\/div>
  • ObjectID - Unique ID assigned by software<\/li>
  • SBManholeID - Unique ID assigned by city staff. These typically begin wtih SMH (Sewer Man Hole) and a 4 digit number.<\/li>
  • Location - A general description of where the structure is located (i.e. in a road, greenbelt, parking lot, sidewalk, etc).<\/li>
  • AccessDiamIn - The diameter of the manhole access measured in inches.<\/li>
  • Material_Riser - The material that the manhole riser is constructed out of (e.g. precast concrete, brick, etc).<\/li>
  • Material_Chimney - The material that the manhole chimney (typically the top section) is constructed out of (e.g. precast concrete, brick, etc)Sewer Basics: Parts of a Manhole<\/li>
  • Material_Cone - The material that the manhole cone is constructed out of (e.g. precast concrete, brick, etc). This is the manhole section that "necks down" the diameter of the structure between the riser and the chimney.<\/li>
  • Material_Barrel - The material that the manhole barrel is constructed out of (e.g. precast concrete, brick, etc). This is the manhole section that typically sits on the base.<\/li>
  • Material_Bench -  The material that the manhole bench is constructed out of (e.g. precast concrete, brick, etc). This is the bottom section of the manhole where the invert or channel is located.<\/li>
  • SewerShed - The sewershed in which the manhole is located. This is based on which treatment facility wastewater flowing through the structure ultimately leads to. <\/li>
  • PumpStaShed - Which pump station sewershed does wastewater flow to. Each pump station is given a unique ID and those are listed here. If it goes from one pump station into another both should be listed.<\/li>
  • Access - ?<\/li>
  • Ladder - Is there a ladder leading down into the manhole.<\/li>
  • InvertDepth_In - Field measurement from the rim to the bottom of the invert. This is measured in inches.<\/li>
  • RoadName - The road where the manhole is located. If not in a road, the nearest road is listed.<\/li>
  • Elevation_Invert - The elevation of the manhole invert. This is either taken from as-built plans or measured with a GPS with sufficient accuracy.<\/li>
  • Elevation_Rim - The elevation of the manhole rim or cover. This is either taken from as-built plans or measured with a GPS with sufficient accuracy.<\/li>
  • InstallYear - The year that the manhole was installed. <\/li>
  • Source1 - Where did the information included in the fields come from? As built plans? Field inspection? Other?<\/li>
  • Source2 - Was a second source of information used to fill in the fields? If so, identify it in this field. <\/li>
  • Comments - Any comments.<\/li>
  • created_user - The GIS user that created the point.<\/li>
  • created_date - The date on which the point was created.<\/li>
  • last_edited_user - The GIS user that last edited the point.<\/li>
  • last_edited_date - The date when the point was last updated.<\/li>
  • GlobalID - Unique ID assigned by software.<\/li>
  • Ownership - The entity that owns the manhole and is responsible for maintenance. If on private property indicate "private". This does not require the private property owner's name.<\/li><\/ul>
    Network Structure<\/u> - This is a layer of wastewater pump stations, diversion structures, storage tanks, and treatment facilities. Manholes do not go in this layer.<\/div><\/div>
    • OBJECTID - Unique ID assigned by software<\/li>
    • FacilityID - Unique ID assigned by city staff. <\/li>
    • Name - Common name used by staff to refer to the infrastructure.<\/li>
    • PointType - Type of infrastructure: Pump Station, Storage Basin, Treatment Plant, Diversion Chamber, or other.<\/li>
    • LocationDescrip - A general description of where to find the infrastructure.<\/li>
    • SewerShed - Which sewershed is the infrastructure located in. This refers to which treatment plant the wastewater flowing through the infrastructure ultimately flows to.<\/li>
    • Ownership - Is the infrastructure owned by a private entity or a public entity (generally the City of South Burlington).<\/li>
    • SCADA - Does the infrastructure have SCADA? Yes / No<\/li>
    • Generator - Does the infrastructure have a generator? Yes / No<\/li>
    • InstallYear - Year that the infrastructure was installed. <\/li>
    • Elevation - Not used, but could be defined and utilized.<\/li>
    • WaterType - Type of water in the infrastructure. This is only used for wastewater so all are "Sewage". Not a useful field at this time.<\/li>
    • Source - Where did information about the infrastructure come from? What is the data source?<\/li>
    • Description - A written description of the infrastructure. <\/li>
    • GlobalID - Unique ID assigned by software.<\/li><\/ul>
      Sewer Lines<\/u> - This is a layer of all wastewater pipe. Includes both gravity sewer pipes and force (pressurized) mains.<\/div><\/div>
      • OBJECTID - Unique ID assigned by software<\/li>
      • PipeID - Unique ID assigned by city staff.<\/li>
      • LineType - Is it a gravity main line, a pressurized line, or a sewer laterial (typically privately owned)? <\/li>
      • PipeShape - Information about the shape of the pipe. <\/li>
      • Diameter_In - Diameter of round pipes in inches.<\/li>
      • PipeMaterial - Information about what the pipe made out of (e.g. concrete, PVC, HDPW, etc).<\/li>
      • SewerShed - Which sewershed is the infrastructure located in. This refers to which treatment plant the wastewater flowing through the pipe ultimately flows to.<\/li>
      • Source1 - Where did the information included in the fields come from? As built plans? Field inspection? Other?<\/li>

        Service Districts<\/u> - This shows the area flowing to each wastewater treatment facility. This is "unofficial" and does not represent the service area as defined in South Burlington City ordinance.<\/div>

        • RuleID<\/li>
        • District - Defines where wastewater flows. Either the Bartlett Bay Wastewater Treatment Facility, the Airport Parkway Wastewater Treatment Facility, or the City of Burlington.<\/li>
        • Acres - Area of the service district.<\/li>
        • GlobalID - Unique ID assigned by software.<\/li>
        • Shape_Area<\/li>

          Pump Station Sewer Sheds<\/u> - The drainage area to each individual pump stations. If there are other pump stations that bring wastewater to the pump station the sewershed should include those sub-areas as well.<\/div>

          • Name - Common name of the pump station that the sewershed colllects and drains to.<\/li>
